Been a while since we've posted a log. Sorry about that, things have been really chaotic. For starters, I finished reading Les Miserables. Fucking hell, that ending was so lame. I can't believe I read that entire book just to get to that. The entire book felt like a waste of time to me. I've heard some people like it, but I thought it was boring as hell. SIREN, EVIE, and HOUND were finally able to save up enough credits for my surgery. It took them a while- surgery is expensive, after all. I've heard things used to be different back on Earth... better in some places, worse in others. My grandparents used to talk a lot about 'health insurance'. I don't really understand why you would need to insure your health. Insurance as we know it today is to protect your possessions if they're damaged. As far as I understand, 'health insurance' never paid you for getting injured, so why then was it called 'insurance'....? Rant aside, the surgery went well, though the doctors did yell at us for letting it get 'this bad', as if we waited on purpose or some shit. Luckily they shut up and did their job soon enough. I don't remember anything about it. That's probably for the better. I think I was off in anesthesia dreamland the entire time... Recovery is going well but I'm still being told to mostly stay in the bed. I am SIIICK of this. Stars above, just let me DO SOMETHING already. I've read some new books after finishing Les Miserables. Some of them better, some of them worse. Just whatever we have laying around the ship that I haven't already read in the past. I'm starting to run out of shit to read, so SIREN said she would go to the local market and pick up some books for me. She asked me what kind I wanted... I'll read anything, so I just told her to get some books that she thinks I'd like. The one useful thing that I've been allowed to do lately is patch up the hole in the coolant tank. EVIE tried to tell me that she could do it herself, but I know damn well she's not good with machinery. After a lot of arguing I was able to convince her to pull up a stool beside the tank and let me patch up the leak. I feel pretty confident it'll hold steady now. My running theory for why it cracked in the first place is that it's simply old as fuck. I don't think there's anything more complicated than that, despite HOUND's paranoia that some random stranger somehow may have sabotaged us at our previous landing. <---- END TRANSMISSION ---->
