I've managed to land the ship on a habitable moon in search of some ore. Still
got plenty of gas in the tank, but the cargo hold is getting a little too
empty for my liking. Here's hoping the refinery I brought with me holds up.
Thankfully I downloaded all the technical manuals and had a chat with a few
engineers before I left, but I dread to think what I'll do if that thing
breaks down. Spare parts aren't exactly common this far out, if you catch my
drift.

The view though is absolutely stunning. I've landed in a desert continent that
stretches for hundreds of miles in any direction. Nothing but sand dunes and
rocks for as far as the eye can see. The sunrise is absolutely breathtaking. I
wish I could embed an image in here, but we're limited for bandwidth as it is.
The sun we're orbiting around is a B-type, so you get this beautiful blue glow
that slowly sweeps across the landscape as it rises, casting shadows that
creep across the landscape and stretch out towards the horizon.

And sitting on these dunes, getting sand in my shoes, I stare across this
alien world and realise why I'm doing this. The solitude, the silence, the
beauty, it's incredible. I've never been a religious person, but the views are
absolutely awe-inspiring, and makes me appreciate this strange little galaxy
we inhabit.

Here's a fun question, and I realise I'll likely never get a response: What's
the fastest ship out there? How fast are y'all going out there? Who's the
furthest out from Sol?

Anyway, I should set up the drilling rig. This ore won't mine itself, and it's
a long way until the next star system.
